a local television station based in Surabaya Jl. Darmo Permai, Surabaya, East Java, where SCTV was initially established to broadcast events RCTI to Surabaya. Although the date was set as the date of birth of SCTV, but only at the date of January 1, 1993, SCTV aired nationally in Jakarta. SCTV operational office was gradually transferred from Surabaya to Jakarta, but remain SCTV studio in Surabaya. At first, the majority of shares are owned by PT SCTV Bimantara Citra, Tbk, through its subsidiary, PT Sindo Citra Media (now the PT Surya Citra Media).
